Time to Brag and Give Credit

In addition to being a CGE professor, I am also the Lima coordinator for Broward College’s Robert “Bob” Elmore Honors Institute. Our Honors program is relatively new and growing, but I wanted to take the opportunity to post about one of my student’s projects from the past semester.

Sebastian Yamamoto did an Honors project for my American Literature Since 1900 course. He chose to focus his project on Carson McCullers’ The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. For this project, “Loss of Innocence: The Evolution of Mick and Bubber,” Sebastian not only produced a beautifully written analysis of the novel, he also created a number of works of cut-out art. Sebastian labored many hours, and he turned in many drafts for this project, all in addition to his regular coursework. He worked very hard, and I could not be prouder of him.

Here is a small sampling of the art he created:

Well done, Sebastian! If you know Sebastian, congratulate him on his beautiful work.
