In line with its commitment to sports and global integration activities, the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola Center for Global Education (CGE) is sponsoring the South American “Mayores B” Rugby Cup. The international competition is being held in Lima this year, with the participation of teams from Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.
The opening ceremony took place on Saturday, October 1 at the Niño Héroe Manuel Bonilla Municipal Sports Complex in the Lima district of Miraflores. The second day of the championship will be this Wednesday, October 5, starting at 2:00 p.m., and the grand finale will be held on Saturday, October 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the same stadium. Admission is free.
Peru is represented by the Los Tumis rugby team. The winner of this tournament will play the Mexican team, the winner of the Rugby Americas North Championship, after which the winner will continue on to the Rugby World Cup to be held in Japan in 2019.
