When you’re in college your lifestyle can become a bit messy and adding all the stress you go thru, plus unhealthy eating habits you’ll be heading straight to a disaster. So now it’s time to start taking care of yourself and make some adjustments so can feel better and full of energy (and not die in the process while you’re at it).
In fact, you might think having a healthy lifestyle consists only in diets and stop drinking or, on the other hand, you think there are way many things and many changes to make so you decide to let it go. However, there are different things you can start doing to make you feel so much better to the point where you won’t stop.
Don’t forget when you’re in college you need to stay in your best physical condition to accomplish all your assignments, go to class, study, work and still have energy and a clear mind. No, it’s not impossible; you just need to take this advice:
Whether you practice any sports or not, stretching can help you improve your health. If you do practice a sport, you’ll need to do so for at least 10 minutes before starting training to avoid pains or lesions while doing it at the end will help your muscles relax.
You can also stretch before going to bed; you’ll have better sleep quality and feel well rested the next day. So, creating your own stretching routine will help you relax your body, activate your muscles and avoid injuries or sprints whenever you do any physical activity.
This step is fundamental and we’ve actually already talk before about healthy-low cost meals you can prepare. Actually, changing your eating habits will help you save some money, improve your health and feel better and more energized every day.
You don’t necessarily need to do it super-fast, you can start by stop eating junk food, too much sugar or sodas and whenever you go to the supermarket choose less processed food such as vegetables or legumes.
We’re pretty sure you don’t drink all the wáter you need thruought the day and you rather drink sodas, right? Thing is, to stay hydrated you need to drink at least 2 liters of water a day, starting with a full glass right after you wake up to get your metabolism started.
Don’t be afraid to carry a water bottle with you to be reminded of the amount of water you need to drink. You’ll feel fresher, your brain will work easily and you’ll definitely be closer to a healthy lifestyle.
We know; who likes to have cold showers? But, what you don’t know is that it can do wonders to your health. Your muscles will automatically activate, your skin will tense up and you’ll clear your mind within minutes, plus you’ll learn to adapt easily to different temperatures. So, what are you waiting for? Energize your days with a nice cold shower.
This is really important especially when you spend most of your day in front of a computer, why? Because you overstress your sight and the headaches start being more recurrent than you’d like. How can you avoid it? For every 20 minutes you work on the computer, rest your eyes for 20 seconds staring into a 6 meters distance.
You don’t necessarily need to practice a sport or go to the gym every day to achieve a healthy life; on the contrary, whenever you can add small exercises to your routine you should do it! You’ll start feeling way better in no time.
All you need is 30 minutes a day of moderated exercise to reduce the risks of many diseases like diabetes or even a heart attack. Go for a walk, do some abs, take a ride on a bike or just anything you can think of to keep yourself moving.
When you start applying any of these advises you’ll notice a HUGE difference to the point where you’ll just want to keep finding ways to have a healthier lifestyle. Keeping in mind how heavy study routines can become changing your habits can bring you more energy and a great alternative to drain all the stress of your tests and assignments, helping you improve your learning process as well.
